Pea and Ham Soup

Slow-cook recipes that use meat on the bone are incredible because of the collagen content and the way the nutrients are retained through the process.

I also cook with the fat on, so important to ensure we’re getting Omega-3 and -6 fats to support healthy hormone production.

This couldn’t be easier because you just throw it all in the slow cooker, set and forget.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1kg ham hock

  • 1.5 cups split peas

  • 1 onion chopped

  • 2 celery stalks, chopped

  • 1 carrot, chopped

  • 2.5L water

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 2 tbsp parsley

METHOD

  1. Throw all ingredients in the slow cooker.

  2. Place lid on and cook for 7-8hr on low.

  3. That’s it! Enjoy!
